Medusa's StoneOur commitment: gambling is entertainment, not income
Most people gamble for entertainment and stop when the money they set aside has gone. Our aim is to keep it that way: a pastime you choose, pay for out of money you can afford to lose, and walk away from without regret. Gambling is not a way to earn, to clear debts or to recover money already lost. We hold a gaming licence and verify the age and identity of every account holder, so that our games are open only to adults who have passed those checks.
Before you play, decide two things: how much you are prepared to lose and how long you want to spend. Set those figures in your account rather than keeping them in your head, so the decision is made while you are calm rather than part-way through a session.
- Fund your account only from money set aside for entertainment, never from money needed for rent, bills, food or credit repayments.
- Never borrow to gamble, whether from a card, an overdraft, a loan or another person.
- Treat losses as the cost of the entertainment, not as something to win back.
- Take regular breaks, and avoid playing when you are tired, upset, bored or have been drinking.
The tools in your account and how to switch them on
Every account includes a set of safer gambling controls. They are free, they apply across the site, and you can switch them on whenever you like from the safer gambling area of your account. If you cannot find a setting, our live chat team or support@casinolucky247.co.uk will set it up with you.
Deposit limits
A deposit limit caps how much you can pay into your account over a period you choose, such as a day, a week or a month. Once the cap is reached, further deposits are declined until the period resets. A lower limit applies straight away, while an increase takes effect only after a cooling-off period and your confirmation, so a limit cannot be raised on impulse.
Loss and session limits
A loss limit caps the net amount you can lose over a chosen period. A session limit caps how long a single playing session can run, and play ends when the time is up. Both are useful if your concern is time or outcome rather than the amount you pay in.
Reality checks
A reality check is an on-screen reminder that interrupts play at an interval you set and shows how long you have been playing and where your balance stands. You then decide whether to carry on or stop.
Time-outs
A time-out is a short break. You choose a period from the options shown in your account, and during it you cannot deposit or stake, although you can still withdraw a balance and contact us. Your account reopens automatically when the time-out ends.
Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion is a longer and firmer break. Your account is closed to play for the period you choose, any remaining balance is returned to you as set out in the cashier, and we take you off our marketing lists. A self-exclusion cannot be lifted early, and when it ends your account stays closed until you ask us to reopen it and a further cooling-off period has passed.
Switching a tool on
- Sign in and open the safer gambling settings from your account menu.
- Choose the tool you want: a deposit, loss or session limit, a reality check, a time-out or self-exclusion.
- Enter the amount, interval or period you want and confirm it.
- Check the confirmation shown in your account, and tell live chat or support@casinolucky247.co.uk if anything looks wrong.
Signs that gambling may be becoming a problem
Difficulties with gambling usually build up gradually, and the early signs show in behaviour rather than in a balance. Go through the list below honestly. If several statements sound like you, it is worth setting a limit, taking a time-out or speaking to one of the organisations in the next section.
- You gamble for longer or with more money than you planned.
- You chase losses, staking more to win back money that has already gone.
- You gamble with money meant for bills, rent, food or repayments.
- You borrow money, sell belongings or hide spending in order to gamble.
- You keep the amount you gamble from family, friends or your partner.
- You gamble to escape stress, loneliness, boredom or low mood.
- Gambling is affecting your work, studies, sleep or relationships.
- You have tried to cut down or stop and found that you could not.
Where to get free, confidential help
The organisations below support people affected by gambling, including friends and family. They are free to use and confidential, and you can reach them by searching for their names. Our support team can also point you towards them if you contact us.
- GambleAware - a charity that funds and promotes free advice, information and treatment for anyone worried about their own gambling or someone else's.
- GamCare - offers free counselling and structured treatment, face to face and online, for gamblers and for people affected by another person's gambling.
- GamStop - a free self-exclusion scheme that blocks you from the online gambling sites taking part in it, for a fixed period you choose when you register.
- The National Gambling Helpline - a confidential helpline and chat service, open to anyone affected by gambling, giving immediate support and referral into treatment.
- Your GP - can discuss gambling with you in confidence and refer you to local treatment services.
While a time-out or self-exclusion is in place we will not send you marketing and will not accept deposits from the account. If you think we have got something wrong, write to responsiblegaming@casinolucky247.co.uk and we will look into it.
Keeping under-18s away from gambling
Gambling is restricted to adults. We check the age and identity of everyone who registers, and where we find that a user is under 18 we close the account, void any play and return the deposits made. Most under-age gambling begins with an adult's device or account, so a few practical steps matter if children or young people share your home or your computer.
- Keep your password and payment details private, never let anyone else use your account, and avoid saving card details in a shared browser.
- Lock your devices with a PIN, passcode or fingerprint, and sign out when you finish playing.
- Use filtering or parental control software on devices children use; most operating systems, browsers and home routers include controls that can block gambling content.
- Set up separate user profiles for children so they cannot reach adult sites or stored payment methods, and talk to older children about why gambling is for adults only.
